If you own a Metaplaces Artifacts NFT, please follow these 3 steps to claim your Bitcoin Ordinal Digital Artifact.
Please keep in mind that bridging your Metaplaces Artifacts NFT and claiming your Bitcoin Ordinal will irrevocably burn and destroy the Ethereum NFT in the process, as there can only be one of each.
Make sure you have the Metamask extension on your browser.
1) Create your Bitcoin wallet and copy the Taproot Bitcoin Address
To be able to receive and store your digital collectible, the first thing you need is a Bitcoin Taproot address.
If you already own one and know how to manage it, you can skip this step.
A traditional bitcoin address that isn’t Taproot enabled won’t work!
We recommend using Ordinalwallets, Hiro or Xverse; wallets that are simple to use. Ordinalwallets seems to be the only one allowing to transfer and sell out of the three.
How to receive your Ordinal with Ordinalwallets :
- Create your account on https://ordinalswallet.com/
- Click on Receive
3. Copy the address provided
2) Bridge your NFT to Bitcoin on our website
First, go to the following address on https://www.meta-places.io/bridge-bitcoin
Here you’ll be able to bridge your NFT. This will only work if your address owns the NFT you are attempting to bridge. Make sure you select the correct account from Metamask.
Please make sure you type the Taproot Bitcoin address correctly. If you type the wrong address, your Bitcoin Ordinal will be sent to that address and you will end up loosing it.
As explained above, by bridging your NFT to claim your Bitcoin Ordinal, you will burn your NFT and won’t be able to trade it anymore on Ethereum. An event will be published on the blockchain indicating your address.
Once you bridged, the Bitcoin Ordinal corresponding to your NFT will be sent to the Bitcoin Taproot address you have supplied within the next few days.
Please note that we cannot be responsible for any loss, Bitcoin, Ordinals or otherwise that may be caused from your use of the aforementioned tools.
